How do
Serbian lessons work?
On these pages, you will find lessons
that will guide you in learning the Serbian language in a
painless way. Ok, I know that sounds like a cliché, but it
really can be that way.
Each lesson is recorded for you.
What you need to do is
print the pdf version of each lesson and then
listen to the mp3 files for that lesson at your leisure.
You can also scroll through the lessons
on the web, section by section. Here is the overall
structure of each lesson:
- Summary of the lesson
- Conversation
- Grammar points
- Useful expressions
- Cultural tips
- Exercises
- Key to exercises
The text dialogue is put into a 2-column
table with English and corresponding Serbian sentences. The
Serbian sentences are recorded for you. If you can
click over them, you can hear how they sound.
Each lesson also has a discussion of
grammar points used in the dialogue section.
The last section of each lesson contains
useful expressions that are also
recorded for you. Pronunciation is also explained in
this section.
Most lessons have a discussion of
cultural points, like when to use ‘ti’ (the informal ‘you’)
and when to use ‘vi’ (the formal ‘you’).
Lastly, each lesson contains a set of
exercises and also an answer key.
Enjoy your learning experience!
