About Larisa Zlatic
I received my Ph.D. in Linguistics in 1997 from the University of
Texas at Austin. My
Dissertation deals with the Structure of the Serbian Noun Phrase. I have
taught university level courses in linguistics and presently, I am teaching
Serbian/Croatian at the University of Texas at Austin. In 2003, a linguistics
textbook I co-authored with
Stephen Wechsler,
entitled
The Many Faces of Agreement was published. It has been used as a textbook at
several U.S. universities.
In addition to academia, I have also worked on practical aspects of linguistics
(yes, linguistics can be practical too) in the high-tech industry. My areas of
expertise are lexicography, knowledge representation, information retrieval and
data mining.
As a translator and language consultant, I have been providing
interpretation and
translation services for over 15 years to governmental agencies, private
companies and individuals.
